What am I paying Jarakey for?
3 min readUpdated 25 Aug 2026For renters, owners and managers
Short answer
The plan, and nothing else. ₦3,000 a month if you live in a property, ₦10,000 a month if you run one, and your rent and service charge are not ours at any point.
Who are you?
This one reads the same whoever you are
The longer version
The confusion worth clearing up first: the money you pay us and the money you pay your property are two different things that never touch. Your rent goes to your property. Our plan is a separate, much smaller charge for the app itself.
The two plans
| Resident, ₦3,000 a month | One property, 100 visitor codes a month, and every tool your household needs. |
|---|---|
| Property Manager, ₦10,000 a month | 3 properties, 2 staff seats, 500 visitor codes a month, and the whole management side. |
Pay for a year at once and it costs less than twelve monthly payments. The exact saving is on the plan screen before you commit to anything.
What it does not cover
- Your rent, your service charge, your levies and your fines. Those belong to your property.
- Power you buy. That is the value of the units plus whatever the network charges to move it.
- A handling fee on paying a bill without a plan, which is shown on the screen before you confirm.
And where the plan money goes
Through Paystack, to us. Card, bank transfer, or USSD. The plan turns on the second Paystack confirms it, because holding somebody activation for an afternoon to look busy is not a feature.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, any time. You keep your account and your space, and the tools stop at the end of what you have paid for. Nothing is deleted and nothing is held to ransom.
- Do you take a cut of my rent?
- No. Your rent is not our money and it does not enter an account of ours. See the article on where the money lands.
