Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Jarakey, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using Jarakey on behalf of a company, estate, or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. Who can use Jarakey

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must give accurate account information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for everything that happens under your account.

3. What Jarakey does

Jarakey is a property management platform. Depending on your role, it helps you manage properties, units, tenants and residents, leases, maintenance, inspections, visitor and access codes, billing, and related communications. The exact features available depend on your role and your subscription plan.

4. Subscriptions, payments, and cancellations

Plans and billing. Jarakey is sold on a subscription basis across tiers. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Payments are processed by Paystack. We may change subscription prices and will give advance notice before it applies to your renewal.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops your next renewal. You keep access to your paid features until the end of your current paid period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, unless the law requires it.

Rent and bill payments. Where the platform supports rent or bill payments, those payments are processed by Paystack. If we ever add a Jarakey platform fee on a payment route, it will be shown clearly at checkout before you pay.

5. Acceptable use

To keep Jarakey safe and reliable for everyone, you agree not to use the platform for anything illegal, access areas you are not authorised to use, scrape or resell the platform, upload malware, or misuse other people's personal information. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content and data

You keep ownership of the information you put into Jarakey. You give us a limited permission to store and process that content only so we can provide the service to you. You are responsible for having the right to share any personal information you enter about other people.

7. Our intellectual property

Jarakey, including its software, design, brand, and content, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you permission to use the platform, they do not transfer ownership. You may not use our name or logo without our permission.

8. Service availability

We work hard to keep Jarakey available and reliable. We cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of it. Where we plan significant changes that affect you, we aim to give reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimers

Jarakey is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We support your operations, but we are not a party to the agreements between landlords, managers, tenants, and residents.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Dispute resolution and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Step 1: Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will try to resolve it together in good faith within 30 days.

Step 2: Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, the dispute will be settled by arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, seated in Lagos, Nigeria, conducted in English.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Jarakey after a change means you accept the updated terms.
