How do I get my tenants onto Jarakey?

Short answer
Invite them by email, one flat at a time. They click, set a password, and land in their own space already attached to their unit, so nobody has to be walked through it on the phone.

Before you start
- The property is added.
- The units are added, with the numbers the tenants would recognise. Flat 3 must be called Flat 3.
- You have an email address for each tenant. A phone number is not enough to invite somebody.
Send the invitation
- 1Open the unit you are filling.
- 2Invite the tenant: their first name, last name, and the email you have for them.
- 3Send it, and move on to the next flat.You are not waiting on anything. The tenant can accept tonight or next week and it still attaches to the right unit.
The ones who never click
Every estate has three of them. You can see who has accepted and who has not, and send the invitation again without typing anything twice. Two practical things that fix most of it: check the email address is the one they actually read, and tell them in the WhatsApp group that it is coming, because an unexpected email about their rent looks exactly like a scam.
A tenant who has not accepted yet is not blocking you. You can still raise their rent bill and record a cash payment against it, and it will be waiting for them when they arrive.
Staff are different
Your gate man and your facility officer do not come in as tenants. They come in on a seat you hold and pay for, which is what gives them the part of the app their job needs and nothing else. Your plan includes two of those seats.
- Can I upload a list of tenants instead?
- You can upload the units. The people are invited one at a time on purpose: a unit is a row in a file, but a tenant is a real person receiving an email about their own home, and getting that wrong is expensive to undo.
- A tenant moved out. What do I do?
- Remove them from the unit. Their access to that flat and its bills goes with it, and their payment history stays on the unit for your records.
One evening of invitations. Then the chasing stops being your job.
