Short answer
Set up the patrol once, with the points to be walked and how often, and assign the shift to a named person. What was walked and by whom becomes a record you read on Monday instead of a conversation you have on Monday.

Set the patrol up once
- 1Name the round, and say which property it covers.
- 2List the points to be walked. The back gate, the generator house, the pump, the car park.
- 3Say how often it runs.
- 4Assign the people who walk it.
Then run the shifts against it
A shift is a named person on a named window. The value is not the rota, which you already have on a wall somewhere. It is that the rota and the record are the same object, so a gap is visible rather than argued about.
Recording each checkpoint as it is walked, live on the round, is not built yet. Today you get the patrol, the points, the shifts and who was assigned. If you need a live scan at each point, that is a gap and we would rather you knew now.
What you do get is the thing the chairman asks for at the AGM: who was on, which round, and when. Nobody can produce that from a log book without an afternoon of reading it.
