How do I report a broken tap?
3 min readUpdated 25 Aug 2026For renters and owners
Short answer
Log it with a title, a short description, how urgent it is, and up to three photos. Then you watch it move from new to in progress to fixed, instead of asking in the group chat whether anybody is coming.

The longer version
- 1Say what is broken, in the words you would use out loud. "Kitchen tap will not stop running" beats "plumbing issue".
- 2Add a photo. Up to three. This is the step that gets things fixed faster than anything else you can do. The plumber who sees the tap arrives with the right part.
- 3Say how urgent it is, honestly.
- 4Send it.
Being honest about urgent
| Urgent | Water coming in, no power to the flat, the door will not lock. Somebody unsafe or something getting worse by the hour. |
|---|---|
| High | It stops you using a room. The only toilet, the only working socket. |
| Medium | It is annoying and it can wait a few days. |
| Low | You noticed it and you would like it fixed eventually. |
Marking everything urgent works exactly once. After that your urgent looks like everybody urgent and the actual emergency queues behind a dripping tap.
After you send it
You see it in your own list with its current state, so the question you used to ask in the group chat is a screen you can look at instead. When it moves, you get a notification.
